RogueType is an innovative roguelike typing game where quick thinking and strategy are key.

Choose from three starting classes: Warrior, Ranger, or Mage.

Ascend the tower by conquering combat nodes, discovering treasure, and upgrading your health, attack, or armor along the way.

During combat, letters (Active keys) will fall from the sky. Typing consonants earns attack points, while vowels build your armor. Alternatively, you can rely on your Constant keys, which don’t grant stats but can be used anytime to help form words. Forming words gives you powerful bonuses to help you in battle.

This game was made in < 3 days and still needs a bit of balancing, but it's still pretty fun. I'd love to hear your feedback!

How to Play:

1. Select your class. Each class has 3 stats: attack, armor, and key speed. Stats are applied at the start of each combat phase, and key speed will effect the rate at which keys fall (currently only the mage has a different key speed making it a little easier to form words).
2. In the top-left corner of the tower screen is your key menu. You can select Active keys, which determine which keys fall during combat, and Constant keys which have no point value, but will count towards your word bonus. The more letters in a word, the higher the multiplier for all of your points during the attack phase. 
3. Consonant keys are worth +1 attack, and vowels are worth +1 armor. "Y" is a random selection, because you know..."sometimes y."
4. If you miss a key, or hit an invalid key by accident that key goes to the enemy, and effects their stat bonus during their combat phase.
5. Besides combat, you can also find Treasure nodes, which will reward you with a new key or $, and Training nodes which cost money, but can increase your Base Attack, Base Armor, or Max Health.
6. The goal is to reach the top of the tower while perfecting your letter selections to form words that fit your playstyle.

After the Jam:

Once the jam voting period is over, I intend to update the game with more areas, bosses, classes, and whatever else I can think of.
